Yeah Yeah Yeahs(ヤー・ヤー・ヤーズ)が前作から9年ぶりに5枚目となる新作アルバム『Cool It Down』をリリースします。
現在、『Cool It Down』から、Perfume Geniusとコラボした新曲「Spitting Off the Edge of the World」のMVが公開され、同曲はPitchforkのベストニュートラックに選出されています。
また、Yeah Yeah Yeahsは新作アルバムをリリースするにあたり、Secretly Canadianに移籍しています。

Yeah Yeah Yeahsとは
Yeah Yeah Yeahs(ヤー・ヤー・ヤーズ)は、2000年にニューヨークで結成された3人組ロックバンドです。
1990年代後半、ブライアン・チェイス(Dr.)とカレンO(Vo.)はオハイオ州のOberlin Collegeで知り合い、その後、ニューヨーク大学に編入したカレンは、バーでニック・ジナー(Gt.)に出会いました。
カレンとニックは前進となるバンド、Unitardを結成し、ドラマーが脱退するとブライアンが加入し、Yeah Yeah Yeahsを結成しました。
2006年にはツアーメンバーとしてイマッド・ワシフが加入しています。
初期のYeah Yeah YeahsはWhite StripesやThe Strokesといったバンドをサポートし、すぐにニューヨークのアンダーグラウンドなガレージロック・リバイバルシーンでその名を知られるようになりました。
バンドはこれまでに4枚のアルバム(『Fever to Tell』、『Show Your Bones』、『It’s Blitz!』、『Mosquito』)をリリースしています。
Cool It Down
Yeah Yeah Yeahs(ヤー・ヤー・ヤーズ)が2022年9月30日に前作から9年ぶりとなる5枚目の新作アルバム『Cool It Down』リリースします。
新作アルバム『Cool It Down』のアルバムタイトルはVelvet Undergroundの曲「Cool It Down」(4枚目のアルバム『Loaded』収録曲)からとられたものです。
アルバムは TV on the Radioのメンバーであり、 これまでのYeah Yeah YeahsのアルバムやWeezer『Black Album』を手掛けたデヴィッド・シーテックがプロデュースし、ジャケットはAlex Pragerが撮影していています。

Yeah Yeah Yeahs(ヤー・ヤー・ヤーズ)のメンバーであるカレンOは新作アルバム『Cool It Down』について、下記のように語っています。
“待っていてくれたみんな、親愛なるファンのみんな、ありがとう！“Fever to Tell”が戻ってきました。前作から9年間、私たちがどれだけのことを経験してきたか、言うまでもない。なぜなら、みんなもそれを経験してきたから。そして、私たちが作った音楽からフィーリングを感じ取ってほしい。フィーリングは逃げることはないし、最近私たち皆を襲っていることから手を引くこともない。そう、私たちはじっくりと時間をかけて、準備が整えば本当に作品をリリースすることを報告したいんだ。
